When CO (carbon monoxide) in the high purity carbon dioxide (COm) is analyzed, CO2 is separated from CO by gas chromatograph first, then converted to CH4 by methane reforming furnace, and detected by FID (hydrogen flame ionization) In order to prevent the CO poisoning of the nickel catalyst in the methane reforming furnace, the gas chromatograph was modified so that the separated CO was vented and not allowed to enter the methane reforming furnace, thus detecting 0.5 ppm of CO2 in the high purity CO.
