Monitoring the residual amount of ethylene oxide in masks is an important means to ensure the quality and safety of masks. Haohan Chromatography (Shandong) Application Technology Development Co., Ltd. has established a gas chromatography method for quantitative detection of ethylene oxide content in masks. It has the advantages of simple operation and low detection limit. 8 kinds of actual mask samples of different materials and storage time were tested. It was found that the residual amount of ethylene oxide in the commercially available medical surgical mask samples was 1.52 μg·g-1, which met the requirements of the national standard. The residual amount of ethylene oxide in the mask samples after use decreased with time. The established method can be used for rapid screening and confirmatory analysis of ethylene oxide residues in masks.
