Haohan Chromatography (Shandong) Application Technology Development Co., Ltd. has established a method for the determination of volatile sulfides in urban rivers by purge and trap gas chromatography. The minimum detectable concentrations of dimethyl sulfide, methyl ethyl sulfide and dimethyl disulfide were 80, 80 and 100 ng/L, respectively, and the recovery rates of water samples were between 91% and 101%. The method is simple in operation and high in sensitivity, and has been successfully applied to the determination of volatile sulfides in water samples from urban rivers.
