为确保《技术规定》中的各项指标科学可行，编制组组织市场较常见的非甲烷总烃连续自动监测仪器开展实验室标准气体和环境空气比对测试，15台仪器40余位技术人员参与测试，近20种标准气体，获取有效数据几十万条。根据仪器实际测试结果，并经过仪器厂商交流和多次专家讨论，重点针对环境空气中非甲烷总烃浓度水平低等特点，明确了环境空气非甲烷总烃连续自动监测系统的方法，根据实测数据提出了环境空气非甲烷总烃连续自动监测系统验收的性能指标要求，包括检出限、空白、峰型、校准曲线、24h漂移、重复性、准确性、高浓度残留、响应时间、多组分示值误差等，以及系统质量控制的周期和要求等。
