氯气具有强烈刺激性气味的黄绿色有毒气体，它主要通过呼吸道侵入人体并溶解在黏膜所含的水分里，对上呼吸道、肺、皮肤等造成严重损害。
 

目前测定气体中氯气含量，常规方法是用甲基橙分光光度法、碘量法等。甲基橙分光光度法是通过氯气将溴化钾-甲基橙的酸性溶液中的溴化钾氧化成溴，通过溴对甲基橙显色，采用分光光度法测试；碘量法是通过氯气氧化碘化物生成碘，采用硫代硫酸钠标准溶液滴定法测试。
 

这两种方法操作步骤冗长费时，测定过程中需用到多种化学试剂，测定结果易受到环境温度、反应时间等因素的干扰，导致测试结果重复性差、准确度低。

Chlorine is a yellow-green toxic gas with a strong irritating odor. It mainly invades the human body through the respiratory tract and dissolves in the moisture contained in the mucous membranes, causing serious damage to the upper respiratory tract, lungs, and skin.


At present, the conventional methods for the determination of chlorine content in gas are methyl orange spectrophotometry, iodometric method, etc. Methyl orange spectrophotometry is to oxidize potassium bromide in an acidic solution of potassium bromide-methyl orange to bromine by chlorine gas, and the color of methyl orange is developed by bromine, which is tested by spectrophotometry; iodometric method is determined by chlorine gas. Oxidation of iodide produces iodine, which is tested by titration with a standard solution of sodium thiosulfate.


The operation steps of these two methods are lengthy and time-consuming, and various chemical reagents are used in the measurement process. The measurement results are easily interfered by factors such as ambient temperature and reaction time, resulting in poor repeatability and low accuracy of test results.
