Reacting with a reducing acid solution in a closed system, substances containing dithiocarbamate are decomposed, quantitatively releasing carbon disulfide. The carbon disulfide content is determined by gas chromatography using the gas above the reaction solution, and quantified by external standard method.
This standard specifies the sampling and determination methods for residual levels of dithiocarbamate in exported apples.
