High purity ammonia is a colorless and irritating gas with a purity of 99.999%. Its molecular formula is NH3 and it is a highly corrosive and toxic substance. Its melting point is -77.7 ℃, boiling point is -33.4 ℃, critical temperature is 132.4 ℃, critical pressure is 11277kPa, gas density is 0.7708kg/m ³ (0 ℃), and liquid density is 729kg/m ³ (-73.15 ℃). Has moderate fire hazard, with a flammable range of 15% to 27% in the air, and a toxicity level of 2 (liquid ammonia level 3).
This substance is widely used in nitrogen fertilizer production, industrial production of nitrogen hydrogen mixtures, power plant ammonia refrigeration systems (refrigerant R717), and organic synthesis fields. High purity ammonia gas is used as a nitrogen source in the electronics industry, combined with silane and argon gas, for LED manufacturing and thin-film solar cell production. During operation, it is necessary to strictly check the sealing of the pipeline, maintain a ventilated environment, and have two people work together. After contact with the skin, it is necessary to immediately rinse with water and treat with a weak acid solution. Inhalation in excess can cause respiratory damage or loss of oxygen carrying function in the blood, and in severe cases can lead to cardiac arrest.
