根据欧洲化学品管理局（ECHA）发布的REACH法规，把蒽(C14H10)列入*批高关注度物质（SVHC）清单，按照法规要求，高关注物质 (SVHC)是除了限制物质以外需要加以控制的有害物质，对于任一SVHC 在物品中含有率＞0.1%时，生产商或者进口商必须向客户及消费者提供物品的安全使用信息，该信息至少包含SVHC的名称；如果含有任何SVHC超过0.1% (w/w)并每年生产或进口总量超过1吨的需要，生产商或进口商都必须通报欧洲化学委员会。
其后归入第二批SVHC清单之中五种蒽油也都为多环芳香族中的蒽类物质，主要用于制造橡胶制品、涂料、木材防腐油、杀虫剂等，均被视为具有持久性、生物累积性、毒性物质，被视为对人体、环境有很大危害性的化学物质。
目前国内还没有炭黑中蒽等多环芳香族的检测方法，滕州市翔鹰分析技术有限公司在王晓莹总经理带领下，成功研发出炭黑中蒽的测定专用XiangyingGC7990plus气相色谱仪，测定结果满意。
