On October 26th, Geneva/New York (WMO) - According to a new report from the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), in another ominous climate change alert, atmospheric levels of three major greenhouse gases: carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide reached new highs in 2021.
The carbon dioxide concentration in 2021 is 415.7 parts per million (ppm), methane is 1908 parts per billion (ppb), and nitrous oxide is 334.5 ppb. These values account for 149%, 262%, and 124% of pre industrial levels (before human activities began to disrupt the natural balance of these gases in the atmosphere), respectively.
