4. Precautions for use
Relatively low column efficiency: Compared with modern high-performance capillary columns such as WCOT columns, its theoretical number of trays is lower and its separation ability is limited.

Activation required: New or unused chromatographic columns must be activated (aged) before use to remove adsorbed moisture and other volatile substances from the column. The activation method usually involves baking with a carrier gas for several hours at a temperature 20-30 ° C above the operating temperature (but not exceeding the maximum operating temperature).
Attention to sample condition: Avoid injecting samples containing high boiling points or non-volatile substances, as these substances may permanently adsorb onto the stationary phase, contaminate the column, and cause performance degradation.
